There are around 84000 postures of which 400 are widely used. Sivananda Yoga includes 12 core postures recommended for daily practice. These have several different variations. There are also postures and variations that lead you into perfecting the core postures. The postures, variations and the preliminary steps are taught progressively based on the capacity and level of the students.
